BIO
Ignacio was born in Madrid, Spain, where his Colombian artist father went to study art at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. After returning to Bogota, Colombia his father took his own life and the family moved to Vancouver, Canada.
Ignacio attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design whilst immersed in the art department of the motion picture industry (As Ignacio McBurney) for over two decades. Surrounded by extraordinary artists his creativity flourished inside this intensely creative discipline.
Ignacio now resides in southern California. Inspirited by his fathers paintings, he is exploring the depths of his creativity as a visual artist. His Colombian heritage erupts in color and form while he experiences this language and embraces its lessons. Lost, in this wonderful world of art.

Artist Statement
Art is a language, spoken by the universe. A love, the sea, a song, the sky, inspires this spirit. It pierces the dark to strike in my heart. Flooding my mind where I render the message and await its acquaintance. Transcending time, emotions and trauma, I capture the intangible, the ethereal, consciousness and the elements of infinity. Light, refraction , shadows, reflections, form and flow. A healing ritual materialized 3 dimensionally through my hands with resins and pigments. Nature's elegance and struggles, balancing in the vastness of color.
